The Doobie Brothers are an American iconic band started in the 1970′s during an era of what some might say the era of good long lasting music. Their music can be heard on classic rock radio stations and other meadia outlets as they are very popular with disk jockeys and the public all around America. The band has seen a change in band members.

Today the band has as its members Tom Johnston, Patrck Simmons, John McFee, Michael Hossack, Skylark, Guy Allison, Ed Toth and Marc Russo. The band’s founding members were Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, Dave Shogren, and John Hartman. Therefore only two of the original members are still with the band today. The Doobie Brothers music can be categorized as being southern rock with a storytelling twist.

They are very easy to listen to which might explain their longevity and their success on classic rock radio for all these years. The band has also won multiple awards including the Vocal Group Hal of Fame in 2004. Through the years the band has seen much change including reunion tours and a change of group members. They are currently on tour in Canada and the United States. Their tour will take them to a number of different states across America so that all their fans can still enjoy their music. The Doobie Brothers will also get together with Chicago on thier tour. Some band do this to save money and to get a good showing for their shows. Chicago is another American rock band similar to the Doobie Brothers so their genres and fans are alike.  Although their fan base might be older they can still attract younger crowds who also grew up listen to the Doobie Brothers during the 80′s or even 90′s and why not, the music is still good and relevant in pop music today.
